Compare schools across Bermuda.
Bermuda’s selected schools offer distinct primary and senior sequences despite their relatively close island setting. British-style years, Saltus’s published British Columbia scope and Somersfield’s Montessori-to-IB divisions need separate comparisons. Senior choice also involves more than full IB: school pages describe A levels, AP, individual IB subjects and career-related or dual-enrolment pathways.

Planning a school search in Bermuda
Choose a primary framework before comparing senior awards
Saltus publishes British Columbia curriculum provision from Kindergarten through Grade 10. That stated boundary matters: it should not be extended into a claim that every senior qualification follows British Columbia requirements. Its separate AP page establishes an additional advanced-course enquiry. Ask the school how a transfer from a British year, American grade or another system is placed, and request the curriculum and school-diploma requirements for the actual joining phase.
Somersfield separates a Montessori Children’s House for ages 3–6 from its Primary Division for ages 6–11, then MYP for ages 11–16 and Diploma study for 16–18. The published primary description should not be relabelled as PYP because older pupils take IB programmes. Warwick’s profile instead describes UK curriculum standards with IPC in Years 1–6, followed by the Years 7–9 and IGCSE/GCSE sequence. Compare actual learning, language and transition arrangements at the child’s present age.

Distinguish full programmes from additional examinations
Bermuda High School’s secondary page describes adapted English National Curriculum study in Years 7–9 and I/GCSE in Years 10–11. Its Senior Years Programme publishes A levels, the full IB Diploma and IB courses as separate choices. The senior programme is co-educational, while the secondary description refers to its all-girls provision. Check the offered division rather than applying one admissions category to the entire school name.
Warwick’s Years 12–13 pathways include full Diploma, individual IB subjects, Career-related Programme study incorporating BTEC, and dual enrolment involving Bermuda College credits. These have different coursework and award structures. Ask the school to explain the proposed combination and any partner-college prerequisites. Saltus AP courses are also an additional examination route; AP availability does not by itself identify the pupil’s complete graduation award or guarantee credit at the next institution.

Map the actual campus and receiving course requirements
Saltus publishes a St John’s Road, Pembroke address, while Warwick’s sixth-form page identifies its Middle Road, Warwick site. Treat those named locations as separate visit and transport enquiries. For any younger division, ask whether the proposed class uses the same address as the senior programme. Request the current timetable, transport arrangements and after-school collection rules before comparing the daily routine, especially when siblings are offered different divisions.
Warwick’s published senior entry guidance distinguishes routes and subject-level prerequisites; a general school place does not settle admission to every higher-level course. Provide examination predictions, completed syllabuses and any existing college credits, then request the exact offered pathway. Compare that with BHS’s alternatives, Somersfield’s Diploma preparation or Saltus’s AP choices. Ask the intended university or other next institution about its requirements separately. Obtain a dated written quotation including examination, transport and support charges for the offered year.

Parent questions about Bermuda schools
Does Saltus’s British Columbia description cover every senior award?
Its current school overview specifies Kindergarten through Grade 10. The separately published AP programme is a senior-course comparison, not evidence that the British Columbia description extends to every later grade or diploma. Ask for the child’s full graduation plan and the intended-year course list.

Is full IB Diploma the only Warwick sixth-form route?
No. Warwick publishes individual IB subjects, a Career-related route with BTEC, and dual enrolment with Bermuda College alongside the Diploma. Confirm the precise combination, admissions prerequisites and credentials with the school and partner where relevant. These pathways should not all be described as the full Diploma.
