Planning a school search in the Republic of the Congo

Checked 15 October 2026. Charlemagne’s exact homepage and orientation bodies were available through the official index after direct requests returned empty bodies. Its campus addresses differ from AEFE’s; its 2026 Dual Diploma is an announcement, not verified completed provision. LIFSE’s primary and pedagogy pages say under construction. AEFE does not approve Toute Petite Section at either school.

Check the receiving campus and the approved class

Lycée international français Saint-Exupéry de Brazzaville is identified by its current LIFSE operator site at 1 avenue de l’OUA. The AEFE record corresponds to that institution and city. Its primary page describes education from Toute Petite Section to CM2, including possible entry at age two. The AEFE table, however, marks Toute Petite Section as not homologated, with Petite Section through Terminale approved. Discuss the particular class rather than extending later approval to the earliest provision.

For Lycée international français Charlemagne in Pointe-Noire, the exact official indexed homepage describes two campuses: primary at 40 avenue Emmanuel Dadet and collège/lycée at avenue Bolobo. The AEFE record instead lists Allée de Makimba. Confirm the current receiving campus with the school before arranging a visit; the difference is not evidence by itself of a verified move. Charlemagne’s table similarly separates unapproved Toute Petite Section from approved Petite Section through Terminale, and marks CNED no for the listed classes.

Keep international sections and senior diplomas distinct

LIFSE’s primary page describes an American international section beginning in Petite Section. This is a school-specific language and bicultural pathway to discuss alongside the French class; its label alone does not establish an American high-school diploma. Ask which lessons, language expectations and support apply in the receiving year. Charlemagne’s indexed homepage also names an American international section, so compare the pupil’s actual section placement rather than reading both school names as identical awards.

For senior study, LIFSE’s pedagogy page describes a general French baccalaureate route, with three specialties in Première followed by two in Terminale. It names choices including mathematics, science, computer science, English language-literature, economics and geopolitics. Ask which combinations will run for the cohort. Charlemagne separately announces a new Academica Dual Diploma option for 2026, described as an American baccalaureate. That indexed announcement needs direct confirmation of entry, delivery and award requirements; it does not establish completed delivery or automatic equivalence with the French qualification.

Use phase-specific staff and orientation enquiries

LIFSE publishes separate primary and collège/lycée contact channels, useful when the same family has children in different phases. Its primary and senior pedagogy pages are explicitly marked as under construction, despite containing substantive descriptions. Ask the relevant team for the current class, language section, support arrangements and timetable rather than treating every displayed heading as a complete prospectus. For a senior transfer, request how previous specialty work would fit the proposed route.

Charlemagne’s exact official indexed orientation page describes an information and orientation adviser, the CDI documentation centre, orientation weeks and a careers forum. These are practical services to discuss with the school about a pupil’s next step. They are not a guarantee of an overseas university offer or every applicant’s access to a particular admissions system. Pair the advice conversation with confirmation of the current campus and, if relevant, the newly announced diploma option.

Parent questions about Republic of the Congo schools

Is the American international section the announced American diploma?

They are separate descriptions. LIFSE describes its primary American international section from Petite Section; Charlemagne names an international section and separately announces Academica Dual Diploma for 2026. Ask which pathway is offered to the child, its teaching and assessment arrangements, and the actual award. A section title does not establish a senior diploma.

Which Pointe-Noire address should a family use for a visit?

Confirm it with Charlemagne. The exact school-owned indexed homepage gives phase-specific Emmanuel Dadet and Bolobo campuses, while AEFE lists Allée de Makimba. These sources were read for different scopes and the discrepancy remains unresolved. Request the current reception address for the intended class before travelling to a site.
