Country & territory guide
Compare schools across China.
The reviewed China collection separates named schools across Beijing, Shanghai and other cities, with both international and bilingual national-curriculum routes. Begin with the institution's own admission requirements and actual campus. A British, American or IB filter identifies documented programme evidence; it cannot establish that every family qualifies for the same kind of school.
43 included profiles · 30 destination collections · 0 dated tuition schedules
This is a selected directory, with different levels of evidence in each collection. Open the named campus profile to check its curriculum phases, review date and sources before contacting admissions.
Planning a school search in China
Confirm each school's application category and documents
Shanghai American School describes commission requirements for schools for children of foreign nationals and links its application eligibility to passport, work and residence circumstances. That is a school-specific admission statement, not a rule to apply to every school in China. WAB publishes its own Beijing admissions guidelines, while bilingual schools have their own application routes. Give the intended school an accurate description of the family and request its current document list before paying charges. A directory match, overseas curriculum or English-language website cannot determine eligibility or establish an available place for a particular child.

Keep city and campus identities with the course evidence
The Shanghai American School record in this snapshot concerns Pudong. Dulwich's current Shanghai application page provides separate Pudong and Puxi forms, even where the website uses a shared Shanghai address. WAB's profile is in Beijing's Chaoyang district; Wuxi Dipont's is in Wuxi's Binhu district. Compare the offered teaching site and year before planning home-to-school travel or interpreting a course catalogue. A qualification available at another campus or a school in another city should not be transferred into the candidate's subject plan simply because a group or national label is familiar.

Compare bilingual compulsory study with senior international choices
Wuxi Dipont describes Chinese compulsory-curriculum primary education with bilingual teaching and Chinese study through Grades 7–9. Its upper-secondary information then offers IGCSE entry points before A levels or the IB Diploma in Grades 11–12. These phases are distinct from an IB continuum or an American high-school route. Ask how the child's prior language and subject learning fit the entering phase and which award the selected senior courses lead to. Request a CNY quotation for that campus, route and period, including joining charges, examinations, transport and support. A school-wide international description or senior Diploma alone cannot price or explain the earlier bilingual programme.

Each row combines evidence from several profiles. Its phases may be offered at different schools; it does not mean every school provides every phase. Online delivery is listed separately. Open the school profile for its exact route and eligibility.

Parent questions about China schools
Do Shanghai American School's eligibility requirements apply to every school in China?
No such blanket rule is established here. SAS explains its own application category and documents, while other institutions publish their own admissions routes. Confirm the named school's current requirements with admissions and avoid inferring admission from an international curriculum, an English website or another family's circumstances.

Does a senior IB route mean a bilingual Chinese school teaches IB in primary?
No. Wuxi Dipont's primary source describes Chinese compulsory education with bilingual teaching, while its senior source separately describes the Diploma and A-level choices. Match the curriculum to the proposed entry grade and ask about the transition. The presence of an international senior qualification should not overwrite documented earlier national-curriculum provision.
