Country & territory guide
Compare schools across Cyprus.
Compare the selected Limassol, Nicosia and Peyia schools through their own year labels, examined subjects and leaving documents. Similar British curriculum descriptions can hide different naming conventions and language requirements. A school leaving certificate, GCSE/IGCSE results and AS/A levels should be identified separately in the proposed senior plan.

Planning a school search in Cyprus
Falcon's cited certificate document is undated. Its description informs questions about leaving documents, while the intended intake's subject and certificate requirements need current school confirmation.
Translate year labels before comparing entry
Foley's describes Form 4 as Year 10 and Form 5 as Year 11 for GCSE/IGCSE courses, followed by A levels beginning in Lower Sixth, Year 12. The English School in Nicosia uses a different local sequence: Years 1–3 are lower-secondary foundations, Years 4–5 its IGCSE phase, and Years 6–7 senior IAS/A-level study. Its Year 1 should not be read as a UK primary year.
Heritage's secondary page uses Years 7–9, 10–11 and 12–13 for foundation, GCSE/IGCSE and AS/A-level phases. Compare completed subjects and reports with those stages rather than moving a child through a label conversion. During an examined course, ask which syllabus, board and assessed work can continue and which courses need a different joining point.

Separate examinations from the Apolytirion
Heritage describes international examination certificates and a separate School Leaving Certificate, the Apolytirion. Falcon's undated one-page document describes an Apolytirion at the end of Seventh Form, with AS/A2 course grades, English-proficiency assessment and physical education recorded. Those are useful questions about the school's leaving record; the document is not a current intake's definitive subject or eligibility checklist.
Ask each senior team which documents the pupil would receive, how school-course requirements relate to external examinations, and what the next institution requires. Keep a school's recognition statement separate from an individual credential assessment. Choosing A-level subjects does not settle complete leaving requirements or establish that every other Cyprus provider uses the same certificate arrangements.

Compare language preparation and locality
The English School describes Greek or Turkish among its compulsory IGCSE-phase subjects. Foley's separately discusses first- and foreign-language Greek and its own selection consequences. Use those descriptions to request the child's actual language route, prerequisites and support. They should not become one country-wide rule; previous language study can affect the proposed examination combination.
TLC Private School's current homepage describes GCSE/IGCSE secondary progression and an A-level Sixth Form receiving pupils from other schools. Its Peyia collection is distinct from Limassol or Nicosia. Confirm the division's address, joining assessment and intended-year subjects before arranging a move. Request current financial terms with transport, examinations and language support separated, and compare the complete leaving plan with the pupil's next application.

Each row combines evidence from several profiles. Its phases may be offered at different schools; it does not mean every school provides every phase. Online delivery is listed separately. Open the school profile for its exact route and eligibility.

Parent questions about Cyprus schools
Is The English School's Year 6 a UK primary Year 6?
No. Its local Years 6–7 describe senior IAS/A-level study, following IGCSE in Years 4–5. Foley's names Lower Sixth as Year 12. Use completed learning and the named school's phase map to ask about placement.

Is an Apolytirion simply the A-level examination results?
The named pages distinguish them. Heritage describes a school leaving certificate alongside examination certificates; Falcon's undated document lists additional information on its leaving record. Ask for current completion and issuing requirements, then check the documents needed by the next institution.
