Country & territory guide

Compare schools across Fiji.

Fiji's selected International School Nadi (ISN) and International School Suva (ISS) profiles concern different cities and receiving-class decisions. Both describe an IB continuum, while Suva also publishes a separate school High School Diploma. Start with the actual campus, completed curriculum and graduation route, then discuss the calendar, English support and intended-year financial terms.

Planning a school search in Fiji

Checked 15 October 2026. ISN's enrolment page mixes a 2025/2026 heading with a future December 2026–January 2027 closure. ISS admissions still names ACT, while its history records the final November 2025 class. Linked schedules and policies were not read; ISN's fee-policy PDF could not be fetched. Confirm the actual cohort and contract.

Choose Nadi or Suva and decode the receiving phase

ISN publishes Nadi Back Road, Nadi; ISS gives Lot 1, Siga Road, Laucala Beach, Suva. Book a class-specific visit at the selected city and site. Ask about arrival, collection and any actual transport arrangement for the family. A country-level collection does not establish one shared campus, a practical journey between the two schools or an available class for each sibling.

Nadi's curriculum page describes PYP, MYP and Diploma provision, while its middle-school page uses MYP1–MYP5. Suva explicitly maps MYP to Years 6–10, followed by Diploma in Years 11–12. Send the child's previous reports and exact completed subjects before matching labels. Nadi's MYP5 is a programme year, not evidence of the same learning stage as a primary class called Year 5 elsewhere.

Compare the full IB award with Suva's school diploma

Suva's Diploma page describes six subjects and the programme core. Its separate High School Diploma page instead maps credits across Years 9–12, requiring at least 24 credits alongside CAS and Tertiary Prep. That school award may be pursued independently or with individual IB Diploma courses. Ask which complete award is intended, how transferred work counts and what the proposed university course requires.

Its school-diploma description permits adjusted credit breakdowns for pupils joining in Years 10 or 11 and describes possible credit recovery. Those are individual arrangements rather than automatic acceptance of every prior subject. Suva's history records the final ACT class graduating in November 2025, although its admissions body still includes ACT in a programme list. Ask the receiving coordinator to confirm the current cohort's route; Nadi's senior IB description needs its own subject and transfer enquiry.

Check the calendar, application decision and complete cost

ISS describes a January–December year, so a Northern Hemisphere transfer may involve extra months in a class. Its process includes reports, possible assessment, a phase-head interview and an offer before enrolment payment secures placement. Applicants needing English support undergo its stated proficiency assessment, with support charges described separately. Discuss prior language and learning needs early. Nadi separately requests two years of reports and relevant support documents, then school approval; submitting its form does not guarantee enrolment.

Nadi's fees page is explicitly for 2026 and separates local and international summaries. It identifies swimming, camps, excursions, MAP Growth and eAssessment levies as separately invoiced. Suva likewise distinguishes local and expatriate fee standards, with additional language or learning-support charges. Request each school's applicable dated schedule, category decision and full itemised quotation, including examinations and chosen services. Linked fee schedules and financial-policy attachments were not used to assert new amounts or a personal discount.

Parent questions about Fiji schools

Does Suva's High School Diploma mean the full IB Diploma?

No. ISS describes a separate school award based on credits and additional CAS and Tertiary Prep requirements, available alone or alongside individual IB courses. Its full IB Diploma has a different complete programme. Ask for the pupil's actual course, transfer-credit and graduation plan.

Can a pupil joining ISS from another calendar simply continue the same class number?

ISS publishes a January–December year and says Northern Hemisphere transfers may need additional months at a level. Its placement process considers the applicant's records and circumstances. Request the written receiving-class decision and joining date rather than rely on a foreign grade label.
