Country & territory guide

Compare schools across Guatemala.

Compare the selected Guatemala City, Santa Catarina Pinula and Fraijanes schools through their graduation documents, taught AP courses and French grades. CAG's named scholarship programme, Interamericano's dual-award description, Maya's two Capstone arrangements and Jules-Verne's individual approval table offer distinct choices. School graduation and an additional international award should remain separately identified.

Planning a school search in Guatemala

CAG's cited dual-award description belongs to its Young Scholars programme. Ask the actual school diploma issuer and requirements; the page's accreditation wording is not used to claim that an accreditor issues a school diploma.

Compare national coursework and school graduation

American School of Guatemala (CAG) describes its Young Scholars programme as a Grades 9–12 scholarship programme culminating in a high-school diploma and Guatemalan Bachillerato en Ciencias y Letras. Keep that description within the named programme: its selection requirements and application stages are not the regular admissions policy for every CAG applicant. Ask the school to identify the actual issuing institution, required coursework and award attached to the proposed plan.

Interamericano's curriculum page describes US and Guatemalan standards from Kindergarten through Grade 12, followed by separately named high-school and Bachillerato en Ciencias y Letras diplomas. It also describes AP and the senior Seminario research requirement. Compare national coursework and graduation requirements alongside international subject choices. Neither the page's broad university language nor an accreditor's name establishes an individual university-entry decision or makes the accreditor the school diploma's issuer.

Distinguish Maya's AP Capstone from its own project

Colegio Maya's high-school page describes Grades 9–12 and AP options. It distinguishes the AP Seminar/Research route from a Colegio Maya Capstone for pupils not taking those two AP courses. Ask which arrangement is in the offered timetable and what its assessments produce. A similarly named school research project should not be treated as the College Board's AP Capstone award or as the complete school-graduation qualification.

The page also says some AP subjects may run in alternate years depending on demand and teacher availability. Use its published list to discuss prerequisites, course continuity and the intended cohort, rather than assume every listed subject is taught each year. Compare the actual subject plan with Interamericano's senior requirements and CAG's named programme. Request a written explanation of the remaining credits, national study and examinations after a transfer.

Keep French phases and campus localities specific

AEFE's Jules-Verne record gives a physical Fraijanes address and approves individual French levels from Petite section through Terminale; its CNED column is separately marked Non. That is a distinct French phase comparison, rather than another AP or dual-diploma label. Ask how previous learning and teaching-language preparation fit the intended French class, including any additional language support required.

Use Guatemala City, Santa Catarina Pinula and Fraijanes as distinct selected collections, then confirm the offered campus and division. Maya's wider Guatemala City contact wording should not replace the selected campus profile's locality; Interamericano publishes its Zona 16 address. Obtain current joining-year financial terms with transport, examinations and support separated. Have the next institution assess the exact credential and subjects, and check the profile's source-review date before relying on older course or billing information.

Parent questions about Guatemala schools

Is Maya's own Capstone the AP Capstone programme?

Its page describes them separately. The school project is offered to pupils not taking AP Seminar and AP Research; the AP route has its own course and assessment requirements. Ask which arrangement and award are in the offered plan.

Does a French school name alone establish all approved grades?

Use the individual table. Jules-Verne's Fraijanes record approves Petite section–Terminale and separately marks the CNED column Non. Confirm the child's intended class and language preparation; that table does not settle an individual applicant's acceptance.
