Compare schools across Indonesia.

Indonesia’s school comparison changes with the island, campus and stage. British School Jakarta is in South Tangerang, while Jakarta Intercultural School has several South Jakarta sites. Senior IB and AP options, Indonesian diploma provision and a Batam school’s shorter verified progression require different transfer plans. These examples describe named schools rather than a single nationwide admissions model.

Planning a school search in Indonesia

Bali Island School’s cited assessment policy is a 2025–26 document marked working draft, not verified as a final 2026–27 policy. Batam’s undated stage map and 2023–24 fee link do not establish a current senior extension or price.

South Jakarta and Bintaro are different campus searches

JIS places middle and high school at Cilandak, connected by a walking bridge to Pondok Indah Elementary. Its Pattimura Elementary site is in Kebayoran Baru; both elementary sites serve Early Years through Grade 5. A family with children in different divisions should therefore establish their actual sites before comparing transport or housing.

British School Jakarta lists Bintaro Jaya, Pondok Aren, South Tangerang. Its MYP runs in Years 7–11, followed by Diploma in Years 12–13. ACG Jakarta instead describes middle school in Years 7–9, Cambridge IGCSE in Years 10–11 and Diploma in Years 12–13. Moving between the two does not mean moving between identical secondary courses, even though both have a senior IB destination.

Senior qualifications need a route and provider check

JIS distinguishes a two-year full IB Diploma from individual IB subject certificates and AP courses. It also describes combining AP and IB study. Ask the counsellor to map the student’s prerequisites and intended university subjects to an achievable timetable; course labels and external awards do not replace the school’s own graduation requirements.

ACG’s secondary page separately describes an Indonesian national diploma option. Keep that distinct from its international IGCSE–IB progression and confirm the course and assessment plan for the individual pupil. At Bali Island School, the published 2025–26 assessment document, marked working draft and updated in February 2026, describes full Diploma, selected IB subjects and a BIS diploma. Its Grade 10 review and subject-readiness conditions are dated evidence, so obtain the final policy for the intended entry year.

Check the endpoint and application category outside the capital

The Independent School Batam’s published map shows primary Years 1–6, Key Stage 3 Years 7–9 and a Year 10 senior stage at its Rosedale site. Its separate IGCSE preparation page lists A-Level and IB as onward study, without establishing either as an on-campus senior course. Families choosing Batam for a younger child should ask where later study and examinations take place, rather than assume a complete senior pathway follows automatically.

JIS’s admission guidelines distinguish families arriving from overseas from transfers within Greater Jakarta; the latter application lane specifies August enrolment. Language or learning support admission depends on a match between needs and available services. Confirm the child’s lane, senior transfer-credit plan and support assessment before paying fees. Batam’s page still links a 2023–24 fee schedule, which cannot serve as a current quotation.

Parent questions about Indonesia schools

Does British School Jakarta teach IGCSE throughout secondary?

Its MYP page checked on 15 October 2026 specifies MYP in Years 7–11, then IB Diploma in Years 12–13. ACG Jakarta separately publishes IGCSE for Years 10–11. Ask about the actual year-group course and transfer assessment rather than infer the same pathway from a British school name.

Is an on-campus IB Diploma or A-Level course verified at Independent School Batam?

No such senior course is established by the reviewed curriculum map, which reaches Year 10 preparation after Years 7–9. Ask the school to identify its current final taught year, external examination arrangements and the receiving provider for later qualifications. Its old fee navigation also needs a fresh intended-year schedule.
