Country & territory guide
Compare schools across Italy.
Use the selected Italy school collections to compare Milan, Rome, Roncade and Vicenza by campus and educational sequence. A British school may move into the IB for Sixth Form, while an IB school group may have separate local campuses. Start with the child’s current phase and intended award, then choose the relevant city shortlist.
25 included profiles · 21 destination collections · 3 dated tuition schedules
This is a selected directory, with different levels of evidence in each collection. Open the named campus profile to check its curriculum phases, review date and sources before contacting admissions.
Planning a school search in Italy
Compare the Milan and Rome senior sequences
The British School of Milan describes a common English National Curriculum in Years 7–9, GCSE/IGCSE examination study in Years 10–11 and the IB Diploma in Years 12–13. Its British identity therefore does not imply an A-level ending. For a child already preparing for GCSEs, compare subject continuity and the planned transition to Diploma study, including the proposed Higher Level choices and any timetable restrictions that the school confirms for the incoming cohort.
St George’s in Rome publishes both the IB Diploma and A levels in Sixth Form, alongside its High School Diploma option. Its admissions FAQ states that A levels were reintroduced from the 2025–26 academic year. This creates a meaningful comparison with Milan for a student choosing between broader Diploma study and concentrated subject study. Request the current course combinations and entry requirements directly: the existence of an alternative pathway does not establish that every subject or combination will be taught.

Make the campus location part of the country decision
Rome requires a division-specific campus plan. St George’s describes a City Centre junior school near the Vatican and a La Storta site with junior and senior provision; the City Centre route continues through Year 6 before the senior school at La Storta. Families with younger and older children should compare the intended campus for each child, then ask about the actual transfer arrangements and daily transport. A shared school name does not mean a shared drop-off address.
In the northeast, H-FARM International School Venice publishes its school address in Roncade, while H-FARM Vicenza has a separate Borgo Santa Lucia address in Vicenza. The selected collection follows Roncade for the Venice-branded campus. Use those actual municipalities when comparing housing and school visits. Do not assume a provision mentioned elsewhere on the group’s website belongs to the chosen campus: the location menu and shared navigation can expose information from more than one school.

Separate an IB continuum from national-award questions
H-FARM’s Venice and Vicenza academic pages describe Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma study. That provides a different starting sequence from the Milan GCSE/IGCSE route. For a younger child, compare the actual primary classroom language and learning approach; for a secondary transfer, ask how prior coursework fits the proposed MYP or Diploma entry. Use the school’s campus-specific phase information rather than applying its international age-comparison table as an automatic placement rule.
The school examples also show why institution identity, programme authorisation and a completed award should be checked separately. Ask each provider to identify the qualification issuer and the current recognition documentation applicable to the intended course and campus, especially if a return to an Italian national pathway is part of the family’s plan. Keep the child’s reports, subjects and language history ready for that discussion. For a senior applicant, obtain a written course plan and confirm it with the receiving institution before committing to a change of pathway.

Each row combines evidence from several profiles. Its phases may be offered at different schools; it does not mean every school provides every phase. Online delivery is listed separately. Open the school profile for its exact route and eligibility.

Parent questions about Italy schools
Do the selected British schools in Italy all finish with A levels?
No. Milan’s published senior sequence ends with the IB Diploma after GCSE/IGCSE study. St George’s Rome publishes IB, A-level and High School Diploma options. Compare the current school-specific offer and the required subjects for the intended next course, rather than selecting a leaving award from the word British.

Is H-FARM’s Venice campus in central Venice?
The school’s own contact page places H-FARM International School Venice at Via Adriano Olivetti in Roncade. Its Vicenza campus has a different address. Use the Roncade and Vicenza collections to distinguish these actual campus locations and confirm travel arrangements with the relevant school.
