Country & territory guide
Compare schools across Laos.
Compare the selected Laos collections in Luang Prabang and Vientiane through the exact French class, teaching arrangement and language-entry discussion. The schools’ different approval tables and incomplete operator details make phase-specific confirmation particularly important.

This is a selected directory, with different levels of evidence in each collection. Open the named campus profile to check its curriculum phases, review date and sources before contacting admissions.
Planning a school search in Laos
Checked 15 October 2026. EFLP’s operator CNED and Grade-12 wording conflicts with AEFE’s non-CNED/unapproved secondary table and the director’s Troisième endpoint. Its procedure packs and older calendar links were not read; its curriculum route timed out. LFIV’s site and non-francophone pages remain generic, so no current campus allocation, move or particular language-support plan is inferred. Linked 2026–27 financial resources were not read.
Separate the city choice from approval of the receiving class
École francophone de Luang Prabang, or EFLP, gives its location as Ban Khoy, Luang Prabang. The selected Vientiane collection is Lycée français international de Vientiane Josué-Hoffet, or LFIV; AEFE lists its Route de Thadeua address. Ask each school for the current receiving campus and classroom. LFIV’s page titled Nos sites contains generic school descriptions and an unfilled nationality placeholder, rather than a usable phase-by-campus allocation; it does not establish a new location or a confirmed move.
The current AEFE table approves EFLP’s Petite Section through CM2, but marks Sixième through Troisième as not homologated. Its CNED column says no for those listed classes. LFIV’s table instead approves Petite Section through Terminale, also with CNED marked no. Those differences matter for a child moving from primary to collège or planning senior study. They identify the reviewed French programme status by class, rather than every teaching arrangement, pupil’s transfer entitlement or individual school offer.

Resolve the Luang Prabang secondary descriptions explicitly
EFLP’s own homepage says secondary pupils use personal computers for CNED courses, while its AEFE table marks CNED no. The homepage also contains broad kindergarten-to-Grade-12 wording, whereas its director describes approved primary schooling and a middle-school extension through Troisième. These descriptions cannot establish one consistent current senior endpoint or delivery model. Ask the school, for the child’s exact class, which teaching is direct, what CNED arrangement applies and which programme or examination documentation the pupil would receive.
This is especially important when comparing an EFLP secondary enquiry with LFIV’s approved collège and lycée sequence. Do not treat a family testimonial mentioning the baccalaureate as proof of a currently delivered and approved Luang Prabang lycée. Equally, the difference between operator text and the AEFE table does not establish that every secondary lesson is distance learning. Request a written current class plan and the receiving-school transition arrangement before choosing a route that depends on later secondary continuity.

Ask about language entry and the actual application file
EFLP’s admissions body says children can join without prior French and receive an individual learning programme involving French, English and Lao; it also mentions Chinese from middle school. Ask how that programme works in the proposed class, how progress is reviewed and how it supports the intended secondary pathway. Its primary and secondary procedure packs were not opened, and the same page retains older calendar labels, so request the current year’s class-specific documents rather than assuming every displayed resource is current.
LFIV’s enrolment body starts with separate primary and secondary secretariat contacts, then an online form. It says an interview and academic evaluation may be needed, followed by document validation and confirmation. Its page titled support for non-French-speaking pupils provides general pedagogy rather than a detailed language-entry plan. Ask for the receiving class’s actual French support, assessment expectations and provision before applying.

Curriculum pathways recorded across the collection
Each row combines evidence from several profiles. Its phases may be offered at different schools; it does not mean every school provides every phase. Online delivery is listed separately. Open the school profile for its exact route and eligibility.

Parent questions about Laos schools
Is EFLP’s secondary provision confirmed as homologated CNED teaching?
The reviewed sources do not establish that combined claim. AEFE marks Sixième–Troisième not homologated and CNED no, while EFLP’s operator says secondary pupils use CNED courses. Its broad Grade-12 wording also differs from the director’s Troisième endpoint. Ask for the exact class’s current teaching, registration and examination arrangement; neither source should be silently overwritten by the other.

Can a child without French enter either selected school on the same terms?
The published information differs. EFLP explicitly describes entry without prior French and an individual learning programme. LFIV describes possible interview and academic evaluation, but its non-francophone page does not specify a class-level support plan. Ask each receiving team about the pupil’s language level, offered class and actual support; an enquiry is not a guaranteed place.
