Country & territory guide

Compare schools across Mauritius.

Compare the selected Mauritius schools by actual campus and the next educational transition. Clavis’s Moka primary provision, Le Bocage’s secondary choices, Northfields in Mapou and the French lycée route at Saint-Pierre offer different phase and award sequences. A country shortlist should identify both the child’s immediate class and the route beyond it.

This is a selected directory, with different levels of evidence in each collection. Open the named campus profile to check its curriculum phases, review date and sources before contacting admissions.

Planning a school search in Mauritius

Clavis’s satellite paragraph retains a January 2025 opening plan and does not verify current Beau Champ grades. Its displayed fee categories lack a clear academic-year date. Le Bocage’s conflicting overall age descriptions remain unresolved; individual placement must be confirmed.

Plan Moka primary entry and the later secondary decision

The selected Clavis profile is its Moka main campus at Mount Ory. Its about page describes Pre-Reception through Year 6 and the PYP. The separately described Beau Champ satellite is outside that profile, and the page still uses a January 2025 opening plan for the satellite. Obtain current division-specific confirmation rather than using that old plan to infer the satellite’s present grades or available places.

Clavis’s admissions page describes observations for pre-primary applicants and language and mathematics assessment for primary entry, alongside previous reports and recommendations. Ask the Moka team about the actual placement and available support. Le Bocage is a separate institution with secondary provision in Moka; geographic proximity and related IB labels do not establish an automatic transfer or reserved secondary place. Plan the later school application independently when primary completion approaches.

Compare Le Bocage’s choices with Northfields’ sequence

Le Bocage describes MYP in Forms 1–5, with an IGCSE alternative from Form 4, and Diploma or Career-related Programme routes in Forms 6–7. Ask which qualification and associated courses form the individual senior offer. Its webpage contains conflicting overall age descriptions, so the Form map is a better starting point than treating either broad age range as an admission cutoff.

Northfields’ Mapou primary page distinguishes Reggio-inspired pre-nursery from PYP Nursery through Year 6. Its secondary page then describes Cambridge Lower Secondary in Years 7–9, IGCSE in Years 10–11 and A levels or the IB Diploma in Years 12–13. This is a different sequence from continuing through MYP. Compare the child’s current work, examination preparation and intended award, then ask for the actual subjects and entry conditions. The Northfields campus is at Labourdonnais Village in Mapou.

Check the French lycée phase and the applicant’s fee category

AEFE’s Lycée des Mascareignes record identifies Helvétia in Saint-Pierre and homologated Seconde, Première and Terminale. That is a specific French upper-secondary route; the record should not be used to imply a whole nursery-to-lycée sequence at that institution. Ask the receiving school how prior subjects and teaching-language experience fit the intended class and the pupil’s planned French qualification.

Budget evidence also needs a named-school category. Clavis’s admissions page separates Mauritian and non-Mauritian citizen fee categories and registration arrangements, but the displayed amounts do not identify a clear academic-year period. Request a dated quotation for the correct campus, citizenship category and joining year. For Le Bocage, Northfields or the lycée, obtain their own tuition, examination and compulsory-extra schedules. A country-wide tuition average would conceal the actual programme and category differences relevant to the family.

Parent questions about Mauritius schools

Does Clavis Moka primary attendance secure entry to Le Bocage?

These are separate institutions. Clavis describes primary provision through Year 6, while Le Bocage describes secondary and senior programmes. Obtain Le Bocage’s own current assessment, available-place and course-plan decision; the Moka location and IB terminology do not establish an automatic transfer.

Does Northfields’ PYP imply MYP before its senior IB Diploma?

Its published sequence is PYP through Year 6, Cambridge Lower Secondary in Years 7–9, IGCSE in Years 10–11, then A levels or the IB Diploma in Years 12–13. Confirm the child’s intended route and subjects. Primary IB provision does not itself establish an MYP sequence.
