Country & territory guide
Compare schools across Oman.
Oman's reviewed school collection separates Muscat, Sohar and Salalah. It includes IB, American, Cambridge and Omani routes, with important differences in senior delivery and fees. Begin with the town where the child will attend, then examine the programme in that school phase; a Muscat example should not stand in for provision elsewhere in Oman.
7 included profiles · 3 destination collections · 5 dated tuition schedules
This is a selected directory, with different levels of evidence in each collection. Open the named campus profile to check its curriculum phases, review date and sources before contacting admissions.
Planning a school search in Oman
Compare two different Sohar qualification routes
Al Batinah International School describes the PYP, MYP and Diploma continuum in Sohar. ABQ Sohar instead describes Cambridge study and an alternative Ministry bilingual General Education Diploma route. Ask ABQ which secondary and senior pathway is proposed, including subjects and the final award, rather than treating every pupil as an A-level entrant. For an ABIS enquiry, identify the actual programme and grade. Both examples show why a town-level school comparison needs a phase map: teaching English, an international label or a shared location cannot establish an identical qualification sequence.

Inspect senior delivery in Salalah rather than assuming a campus course
British School Salalah's senior-school information distinguishes in-person GCSE subjects from online Computer Science and describes FlexEd access that can combine classroom, live online and independent study. Confirm the delivery of each intended A-level subject, including teaching, assessment, supervision and examination arrangements. The Salalah collection also includes AGS, whose preserved programme evidence does not establish the same senior offer. Start from the child's next qualification and required subjects, then check the named school. A listed secondary phase or British label is insufficient evidence of an on-campus Sixth Form in every school.

Compare Muscat joining costs and individual placement
TAISM publishes a school-specific 31 October age cutoff and grade-equivalency information; use it with reports and completed-term dates when discussing a transfer. Its fee structure separately lists a capital levy, while British School Muscat distinguishes tuition from infrastructure and other joining payments. Request a written OMR quotation for the offered grade and period, including exemptions or credits that actually apply. Compare first-year cash needs with later recurring costs and confirm transport from the intended address. Oman's Ministry lists private-school oversight and curriculum approval responsibilities, but that general context cannot replace the receiving school's individual placement and course confirmation.

Curriculum pathways recorded across the collection
Each row combines evidence from several profiles. Its phases may be offered at different schools; it does not mean every school provides every phase. Online delivery is listed separately. Open the school profile for its exact route and eligibility.

Parent questions about Oman schools
Can I assume every Omani international school offers A levels?
No. Sohar includes an IB continuum and ABQ's different Cambridge and Ministry pathways; Salalah's senior delivery also needs subject-specific checking. Ask for the taught sequence, final qualification and actual delivery in the offered year. Do not convert a general international or British description into a guaranteed A-level place.

Should a Muscat tuition range be used to price a Sohar or Salalah school?
No. Joining charges, programme delivery and included services differ by school. Obtain the relevant campus's current OMR schedule and a quotation for the child. Muscat's documented infrastructure or capital payments illustrate why tuition alone is incomplete, but their amounts and conditions should not be transferred to schools in another town.
