Planning a school search in the Philippines
Distinguish the Manila-named schools and senior awards
British School Manila’s senior page identifies IGCSE and International Baccalaureate study. International School Manila instead describes its own High School Diploma, with Grades 11–12 choices between the full IB Diploma and selected IB certificates. It also distinguishes limited taught AP classes from examinations a pupil prepares for independently. Compare the actual award and teaching arrangement rather than treating all Manila-named senior programmes as one pathway.
At ISM, ask which IB subjects are taught and which AP option involves a class, independent preparation or examination registration. Those are different commitments for a transferring pupil. For British School Manila, request the specific joining phase, course sequence and current subject timetable. A familiar curriculum name does not establish that a course already started elsewhere can continue unchanged, and an examination result does not automatically grant university credit.

Use Taguig, Biñan and Mandaue campus geography
ISM’s published academic page identifies its campus in Taguig. Brent International School Manila’s FAQ gives a different address in Brentville, Mamplasan, Biñan, Laguna. Use the Biñan collection for that selected Brent school rather than treating the Manila name as a central-city address. Brent’s separately linked Baguio and Subic schools are different enquiries; one campus’s admissions guidance does not establish all branches’ policies.
Singapore School Cebu’s contact page identifies Zuellig Avenue in Mandaue. Its pre-university page describes the IB Diploma, providing a different geographic option for a senior shortlist. The Singapore name should not be used to infer a Singapore national leaving award from that IB provision. Confirm the teaching site and proposed phase for each sibling, then obtain current transport and collection arrangements from the relevant school before comparing a household move.

Resolve calendar and credit continuity before choosing
Brent Manila’s FAQ describes placement as a review of the child’s birth date, previous completed grade, curriculum and school calendar. It explains that calendar differences can affect the appropriate joining grade and that high-school semesters and credits matter for graduation. These are the named school’s procedures, not national Philippines placement rules. Send the receiving team current reports and semester records before relying on a numerical Year-to-Grade comparison.
For a senior applicant, request a written plan showing the expected award, required subjects, available support and completed work the school will accept. Ask Singapore School Cebu how a transfer fits its two-year pre-university Diploma sequence, and ask ISM which full-Diploma or course option is appropriate. Obtain dated tuition and examination terms separately from transport, support and accommodation where relevant. Academic acceptance does not determine every individual residence-document requirement or available place.

Parent questions about Philippines schools
Is an AP examination option necessarily a taught AP class at ISM?
ISM distinguishes limited AP classes from other examinations students may prepare for independently. Confirm whether the intended subject includes teaching, independent preparation or examination registration. The school’s IB, AP and graduation options should remain separate in the offered plan.

Is Brent International School Manila located in central Manila?
Its published FAQ places the selected school in Mamplasan, Biñan, Laguna. Use the actual campus location when planning visits and daily travel, and ask Brent’s other campuses separately about their provision and admission arrangements.
