Country & territory guide
Compare schools across Sint Maarten.
Compare the selected Cupecoy and Cay Hill schools by the issuing qualification, early-school experience and evidence needed for a transfer. Caribbean International Academy's Ontario route differs from Learning Unlimited Preparatory School's US college-preparatory programme. The comparison covers these named Sint Maarten campuses; a shared island address does not make their curricula, assessment or admission requirements interchangeable.

This is a selected directory, with different levels of evidence in each collection. Open the named campus profile to check its curriculum phases, review date and sources before contacting admissions.
Planning a school search in Sint Maarten
Checked 15 October 2026. The directly read CICIC institution record is scoped to specific secondary credentials and retains older policy links, which were unread. CIA's academic page still links a 2024/2025 calendar. LUPS's 2026–2027 agreements and curriculum downloads were unread. No current price, fresh cohort graduation rules, universal diploma equivalence or place availability is inferred.
Match the issuing credential to the actual secondary programme
Caribbean International Academy (CIA) describes a Kindergarten–Grade 12 Ontario programme and its Ontario Secondary School Diploma route. The directly read official CICIC institution record identifies specific Grade 9–12 and secondary-diploma credentials in an Ontario context. Read its authorisation as applying to those credentials and programmes, not recognition of every earlier phase or automatic university admission.
Learning Unlimited Preparatory School (LUPS) describes US college-preparatory High School in Grades 9–12 with AP, Honors and elective opportunities. Ask which courses will be taught in the intended year, which are externally examined and how they count toward the school's graduation requirements. At CIA, request the current credit evaluation and compulsory-course plan. A transferred report, an advanced course and a completed diploma are different pieces of the application.

Compare early provision and avoid an outdated course menu
CIA's prospective-parent page describes a Montessori/Kindergarten programme for ages 3–6 before Grades 1–12. LUPS's Junior Academy identifies Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten, using Frog Street in the first two phases and offering Spanish and French alongside its broader programme. It distinguishes part-time preschool from full-time attendance. Discuss the child's developmental readiness, actual receiving class, language provision and daily schedule rather than treat a published age range as an automatic offer.
CIA's academic page links Ontario curriculum by grade, but its displayed school course calendar is labelled 2024/2025. Those national curriculum links do not verify today's local timetable, examination options or available classes. Request the intended academic year's school course calendar and compare it with the transcript plan. LUPS's current high-school description likewise introduces options rather than an assured individual menu; ask about prerequisites and the teacher-supported sequence before committing to an examination route.

Use campus-specific transfer and support enquiries
CIA gives Tigris Road #4 in Cupecoy; LUPS identifies Welgelegen Road #32 in Cay Hill. Confirm the child's division, visit arrangements and practical attendance needs at the named site. CIA asks for previous report cards or transcripts before processing an application. LUPS describes a visit, classroom evaluation and placement testing, with a tuition agreement issued following acceptance rather than simply after an enquiry.
For a mid-semester Middle or Upper School transfer, LUPS requests course-by-course grades-to-date and the previous class schedule. Its page also states limits on provision requiring an alternate curriculum or classroom aide. Discuss the actual support required before interpreting general personalised-learning language as guaranteed capacity. The linked tuition agreements are labelled 2026–2027 but were not read here; obtain a current quotation and written support/placement decision for the proposed class.

Parent questions about Sint Maarten schools
Does CIA's Ontario listing establish the same award for every age group?
The official CICIC institution record names specific secondary credentials in Grades 9–12 and a secondary diploma. CIA describes its younger curriculum separately. Ask how the child's receiving phase, transferred credits and eventual award fit together; the listing does not guarantee a university outcome or apply one country's rules to every pupil.

What is useful for a mid-semester move to Learning Unlimited?
LUPS asks Middle/Upper transfers for grades-to-date and the existing class schedule as well as current records, placement testing and evaluation. Share any support reports and discuss its stated capacity limits. This allows the school to assess unfinished courses and the receiving timetable; submitting documents or visiting does not establish acceptance.
