Country & territory guide

Compare schools across Türkiye.

Compare the selected Türkiye schools by the named campus, primary programme, senior award and school-specific admissions category. MEF Istanbul in Ulus and MEF Izmir in Gaziemir differ at primary level, while IICS’s Hisar and Marmara campuses have different grade coverage. A shared international or IB label does not answer those practical questions.

6 included profiles · 4 destination collections · 0 dated tuition schedules

This is a selected directory, with different levels of evidence in each collection. Open the named campus profile to check its curriculum phases, review date and sources before contacting admissions.

Planning a school search in Türkiye

Check Ulus, Gaziemir, Hisar and Marmara separately

MEF’s Istanbul contact page gives Ulus in Beşiktaş; its Izmir page gives Dokuz Eylül in Gaziemir. These are separate schools in different cities, so each enquiry should name the campus and offered division. Request the actual arrival point and proposed daily transport before comparing accommodation. The school group’s common navigation should not transfer one location’s provision or application procedure to another.

IICS’s campus page gives a more specific Istanbul distinction: Hisar serves Early Years 3 through Grade 3, while Marmara serves Early Years 3 through Grade 12. A child approaching the end of Hisar’s published grades needs a Marmara-campus planning discussion. Families should consider that later journey as well as the first year’s travel. IICS’s admissions page identifies a day school; its FAQ says it does not provide accommodation. Ask about actual transport and collection when residential care is a requirement.

Distinguish the MEF primary and senior sequences

MEF Istanbul’s primary material describes the PYP and additional-language learning from preschool through Grade 5. MEF Izmir instead describes Cambridge Primary through Grade 5, including its published primary assessment sequence. A senior IB route at both schools should not be projected backwards into an identical primary curriculum. Ask the actual division about teaching language, classroom approach and how the child’s completed learning will be assessed.

Both current high-school pages describe Cambridge IGCSE in Grades 9–10 followed by IB Diploma study in Grades 11–12. Both also identify an IB Course Certificate route. Izmir’s current high-school page establishes this IB senior sequence, so an older A-level description should not determine a new applicant’s intended award. Request the receiving campus’s course plan, available subjects and graduation requirements, keeping a full Diploma and individual courses distinct.

Use the receiving school’s citizenship and assessment checks

IICS’s FAQ states that it cannot accept applicants who hold only Turkish citizenship. It describes school-record and support checks and an English writing assessment for Grade 6 and above. This is evidence of IICS’s own published admissions category and process, not a rule to apply to every selected school in Türkiye. Present the actual family documents to the receiving team and obtain its assessment of eligibility and educational fit.

The FAQ describes year-round applications and mid-year entry subject to available places. Ask how completed coursework, support and the requested start date fit the proposed award. Confirm first-year charges separately from annual tuition and request the current itemised quotation. MEF requires its own intended-year admissions and budget documents; an IICS offer cannot settle another provider’s category or examination-course entry.

Curriculum pathways recorded across the collection

Each row combines evidence from several profiles. Its phases may be offered at different schools; it does not mean every school provides every phase. Online delivery is listed separately. Open the school profile for its exact route and eligibility.

Parent questions about Türkiye schools

Do MEF Istanbul and Izmir offer the same primary programme?

Istanbul’s published primary material describes PYP; Izmir’s primary overview describes Cambridge Primary. Their shared senior IB sequence does not establish the same junior curriculum. Confirm the named division, teaching language and current offer for the child’s intended year.

Can an applicant holding only Turkish citizenship assume eligibility at IICS?

IICS’s FAQ excludes applicants who hold only Turkish citizenship. Ask its team to review the actual documentation and placement. This is a named-school policy; another provider needs to assess eligibility independently.
