Country & territory guide
Compare schools across Taiwan.
Taiwan’s school search includes different curriculum and admissions categories, so the word international is only a starting point. Taipei American School’s senior course choices, Taipei European School’s language sections, LUYA’s programme status in Taoyuan and Juntou’s primary profile in Puli illustrate decisions that must be made by campus and phase. Confirm the child’s eligibility and intended qualification before interpreting a country-level curriculum filter.
11 included profiles · 8 destination collections · 0 dated tuition schedules
This is a selected directory, with different levels of evidence in each collection. Open the named campus profile to check its curriculum phases, review date and sources before contacting admissions.
Planning a school search in Taiwan
Juntou’s school-owned primary reference and IB record were read through current official search-index evidence after direct record requests failed. Its original 14 October 2026 primary-only scope is retained. TAS’s historical statistics and TES’s August 2026 admissions-window example are not treated as new intake data.
Taipei: compare the timetable and the language section
TAS publishes an American-based programme with several senior choices. AP study may begin in Grade 10, IB study in Grade 11, and pupils can take individual IB courses rather than the full Diploma. The school says AP and IB are not graduation requirements. A senior applicant should compare the school-diploma credit plan with the proposed external courses and ask about prerequisites and scheduling rather than use historical course totals as a current subject list.
TES organises British, French and German sections. Its accreditation page identifies the IB Diploma and a separately accredited French national programme. The admissions FAQ generally permits a formal application to only one section from Year 2/CP/Klasse 1 onwards. Language and curriculum readiness therefore affect section choice; a multilingual school does not mean every pupil follows the same award or can switch sections without assessment.

Division and authorisation matter beyond the school name
TES places primary at FuGuo Road in Shilin and secondary at JianYe Road in Yangmingshan. For children advancing to secondary, compare the next campus as well as the current one. The FAQ describes an August–June calendar and normally shared semester starts, with exceptional off-island arrangements considered individually. Map previous study to the actual year-group placement chart, especially after a Southern Hemisphere transfer.
LUYA’s Longtan, Taoyuan site states that its Diploma Programme is authorised while MYP is a candidate programme. Its IB record gives 10 April 2026 as the authorisation date. In Puli, the selected Juntou profile concerns authorised primary PYP provision only. Its separately advertised Cambridge study is not added to that profile as a verified secondary or senior route. These examples require different onward-school questions even though both appear under an IB filter.

Read eligibility as the named school’s policy
TES’s FAQ says an enrolling child must hold a valid foreign-country or recognised-territory passport and provide proof of legal residence. It also describes assessments and curriculum-language fit. Treat this as TES’s stated admission condition: it does not establish that every school in this Taiwan collection uses the same category or that a passport alone secures a place.
For TAS, TES, LUYA or a Puli primary applicant, request the actual intended-year grade, language-support plan, available route and written charges. TES’s FAQ uses an August 2026 intake example for its main application window, so do not copy those dates into a future application. For LUYA, ask specifically about the current DP cohort and MYP candidacy progress. For Juntou, establish the receiving school and transition assessment after the verified primary phase.

Curriculum pathways recorded across the collection
Each row combines evidence from several profiles. Its phases may be offered at different schools; it does not mean every school provides every phase. Online delivery is listed separately. Open the school profile for its exact route and eligibility.

Parent questions about Taiwan schools
Does an IB label in Taiwan always mean an authorised all-through programme?
No. LUYA’s school page reviewed on 15 October 2026 identifies authorised DP and candidate MYP. The reviewed Juntou profile is primary PYP only, corroborated through current official indexed records. Neither example establishes every IB phase. Ask about the exact authorised programme, operating cohort and later-school transition.

Can a pupil apply freely to every TES section and enrol with only a passport?
TES’s FAQ generally allows one formal section application from Year 2/CP/Klasse 1. It states a foreign-passport and legal-residence condition, alongside assessment and language/curriculum considerations. Confirm the current section and intake process with TES; these conditions do not guarantee placement or describe every school in Taiwan.
