Country & territory guide

Compare schools across Vietnam.

Vietnam’s school choices include English-medium international routes, bilingual British study and integrated Vietnamese programmes. The differences become especially important at secondary transfer: IB Diploma, A Levels and MOET-linked senior study are separate pathways. Use the named Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho and Nha Trang examples to compare teaching language, campus progression and the qualification actually available for the intended year.

11 included profiles · 6 destination collections · 0 dated tuition schedules

This is a selected directory, with different levels of evidence in each collection. Open the named campus profile to check its curriculum phases, review date and sources before contacting admissions.

Planning a school search in Vietnam

SIS Can Tho’s page retains a Year 9 endpoint alongside a Years 10–12 integrated senior section. AVE’s A-Level route is explicitly planned for 2027; it is excluded from existing 2026 provision.

BIS and BVIS: the extra letter changes the comparison

BIS Ho Chi Minh City combines English and international curricula: primary draws on the English National Curriculum and International Primary Curriculum, secondary leads to IGCSE, and senior study to IB Diploma. Its three Thao Dien campuses are organised as Early Years and Infant, Junior, and Secondary. A visit should include the site the child would join and the next phase they are approaching.

BVIS Hanoi’s FAQ describes both English and Vietnamese in early and primary teaching: a 50–50 early-years balance and 60–40 primary balance. It identifies IGCSE and A-Level examination resources for Years 10–13. This is not the same senior route as the BIS Diploma pathway, nor a promise of an unchanged language balance through every phase. Ask which subjects switch teaching language and how prior Vietnamese and English learning affect placement.

Can Tho and Nha Trang: separate current courses from plans

SIS Can Tho’s integrated programme describes Vietnamese MOET study in Years 1–5 and 6–9, alongside Singapore and international subjects. A senior section now describes MOET-based Years 10–12 with English and IELTS practice. The same page retains earlier Year 9 endpoint text; generic examination-result blocks do not resolve that conflict or prove an on-campus A-Level course. Ask for the campus’s current senior class and award plan.

AVE Academy in Nha Trang publishes Cambridge primary, lower-secondary and IGCSE progression. Its curriculum page explicitly plans A Levels for 2027. An October 2026 school article describes current Years 1–11 across three age-group campuses in An Vien and says official IGCSE examinations are taken in Ho Chi Minh City. Families should clarify examination travel, supervision and costs, and treat the later A-Level launch as a future arrangement requiring confirmation.

Admission depends on the pupil and examination stage

BIS HCMC accepts applications year round and says most age groups can start during the year subject to spaces and criteria. Its process includes recent reports, age-appropriate assessments and an English as an Additional Language assessment when relevant. Families entering an examination course should ask separately whether the proposed subject choices and start date allow completion; a general rolling-admissions statement cannot settle that.

BIS also lists registration, refundable security-deposit and tuition categories. Request the intended-year amounts and treatment of English support, transport and examination charges. For BVIS, discuss the child’s readiness to learn academic content in both languages; for Can Tho, request the integrated programme’s national and international subject timetable. Comparing those written plans is more useful than treating all four examples as one international curriculum.

Parent questions about Vietnam schools

Do BIS HCMC and BVIS Hanoi offer the same senior qualification?

No. BIS HCMC’s reviewed phase map leads from IGCSE to IB Diploma. BVIS Hanoi’s FAQ identifies IGCSE and A-Level study in its Years 10–13 examination phase. Confirm the exact senior subjects and language arrangements at the named campus; these are school-specific pathways, not a countrywide rule.

Can a family rely on A Levels already operating at AVE Academy in 2026?

The curriculum page checked on 15 October 2026 says A Levels are launching in 2027. Its October 2026 article describes Years 1–11 and IGCSE examinations in Ho Chi Minh City. Obtain written confirmation of the planned first cohort, subjects, teaching site and examination centre before choosing a senior route.
