Compare schools across Mexico.

Compare the selected Mexico school collections by actual municipality, teaching sequence and final credential. Mexico City, Naucalpan de Juárez, Santa Catarina and Querétaro provide different combinations of American, British and IB study. A metropolitan brand or international accreditation logo does not establish the same programme, phase coverage or Mexican qualification recognition at every school.

This is a selected directory, with different levels of evidence in each collection. Open the named campus profile to check its curriculum phases, review date and sources before contacting admissions.

Planning a school search in Mexico

Use the campus municipality rather than the metropolitan brand

The American School Foundation in Mexico City and Greengates in Naucalpan de Juárez are separate choices. Greengates’ homepage locates its community in Naucalpan, north of Mexico City. Keep the Naucalpan collection distinct when comparing campus access and visits. Ask which building and division a child would attend, then confirm current arrival, collection and transport arrangements before narrowing a residential shortlist.

American School Foundation of Monterrey publishes its high-school address in Santa Catarina, Nuevo León. The Monterrey name therefore should not replace the actual municipality in a family’s campus plan. John F. Kennedy, The American School of Querétaro, is another distinct destination with its own senior pathway. Use Santa Catarina and Querétaro’s collections to compare those schools, rather than extending Mexico City findings to the rest of the country or assuming one group’s admissions arrangements apply to another.

Compare the whole phase sequence before the senior badge

ASF’s programme page describes a US high-school diploma programme with optional senior IB, AP and Mexican programme coursework. Its IB map identifies PYP in Grades 1–5 and optional Diploma study in Grades 11–12; that page does not establish an MYP sequence between them. ASFM’s high-school page instead presents a US-aligned curriculum with AP study. For either school, ask about required subjects, prior-course recognition and the exact credential the applicant would complete, without assuming AP examinations guarantee university credit.

JFK Querétaro publishes MYP in Grades 9–10 and the opportunity to participate in the Diploma programme in Grades 11–12. Greengates provides a different sequence: International Primary Curriculum study with English National Curriculum elements, IGCSE in Years 10–11 and the IB Diploma in Years 12–13. Those year labels are school-specific. Compare course content and assessment records, then request an individual placement review instead of equating the same numbered year or an IB logo across all four examples.

Separate Mexican programme recognition from international awards

DGB’s official upper-secondary guidance describes Reconocimiento de Validez Oficial de Estudios, or RVOE, as recognition incorporating a specific plan and programme of study into the national education system. It explains DGB’s role for its incorporated private preparatory schools and notes that other upper-secondary subsystems may issue recognition. This is a programme-specific verification question in the relevant upper-secondary context, rather than an assumption that one RVOE or international accreditation covers every phase and award at an institution.

Ask the school to identify the awarding body, relevant campus and recognition documentation for the Mexican studies being proposed, then check those details through the appropriate authority. Keep an international school diploma, full IB Diploma, individual courses and a Mexican Bachillerato pathway distinct in the written plan. ASF itself describes several programme options, making this especially useful when comparing a student’s intended credential with the next institution’s requirements. Request current subject choices, language support and transfer arrangements directly; a published pathway does not determine available places, admission or equivalence for an individual child.

Curriculum pathways recorded across the collection

Each row combines evidence from several profiles. Its phases may be offered at different schools; it does not mean every school provides every phase. Online delivery is listed separately. Open the school profile for its exact route and eligibility.

Parent questions about Mexico schools

Does ASF’s PYP and Diploma provision establish an MYP route?

Its published programme map identifies PYP in Grades 1–5 and optional Diploma study in Grades 11–12. That evidence should not be extended into an assumed MYP programme. JFK’s senior page explicitly identifies MYP in Grades 9–10, so compare the actual middle and secondary sequence at each school.

Does international accreditation prove Mexican recognition for every programme?

DGB describes RVOE in terms of the specific upper-secondary plan and programme of study. Ask which recognition applies to the proposed Mexican course and campus, and separately confirm any international award. The school’s broad institutional identity does not supply that programme-specific answer.
