Compare schools across Kazakhstan.

Compare the selected Kazakhstan schools by city, teaching language and intended leaving award. Haileybury Almaty and Haileybury Astana publish different Sixth Form routes; Miras in Almaty integrates national and IB study, while QSI Atyrau describes an American diploma and AP Capstone. The planned Haileybury partnership transition also deserves an intake-specific check.

Planning a school search in Kazakhstan

Almaty’s options booklets retain their 2025–27 period. The Wellington partnership is an announced change for 2027–28, and pathway continuity is the school’s stated plan. Older figures and subject lists within Miras and QSI material are not treated as current individual offers.

Compare Almaty A levels with Astana’s IB Diploma

Haileybury Almaty’s publications page identifies IGCSE preparation followed by A levels in Years 12–13, with options booklets headed 2025–27. Its address is on Al-Farabi Avenue. Haileybury Astana publishes a two-year IB Diploma at its Ivan Panfilov Street site. The shared Haileybury name therefore does not settle the senior qualification or the city a family should shortlist.

Use the pupil’s existing examination sequence and next-course prerequisites to compare the actual offer. Astana’s IB page says subject changes are permitted within the first half term of Year 12; it does not establish unrestricted late changes. Ask the receiving school to assess previous subjects, language preparation and assessed work before assuming that a transfer between these senior routes can preserve the same timetable or completion date.

Reconcile Miras’s grade map and QSI’s diploma plan

Miras’s curriculum page describes Grade 5 as a preparatory MYP0 transfer year before MYP1 in Grade 6. It separately describes the national Grade 11 programme and IB Diploma study in Grades 11–12. Keep the preparation year, authorised programme and final award distinct when converting a previous school’s grade. Its primary page also describes Kazakh, Russian and English instructional options, while the Diploma is described as English-medium; request the actual stream offered to the child.

QSI Atyrau’s admissions page describes North American education and senior routes involving an American High School Diploma and AP Capstone. It also distinguishes support for younger English learners from secondary placement, where completed credits and prior achievement matter. Ask for the named diploma, available courses and expected completion plan. Neither a grade-comparison table nor an AP label establishes individual placement, an available subject or university credit.

Confirm the intended intake through the announced transition

The Haileybury school website announces that the Almaty and Astana schools will enter a Wellington College Education partnership from the 2027–28 academic year. This is a future announcement, not evidence that the transition has already happened. The announcement states that A levels in Almaty and the IB Diploma in Astana are intended to continue. Applicants for that period should request the current school name, contracting institution and cohort-specific course plan in writing.

Astana’s application page requests a passport copy and recent school report, followed by assessment or interview. QSI Atyrau describes its own application materials and placement process. Treat these as separate admissions procedures. Confirm the appropriate division, language support and actual start date with each school, then request an intended-year quotation separating tuition, transport and compulsory extras. Published scholarship or transition language does not itself decide a new applicant’s place or funding.

Parent questions about Kazakhstan schools

Do Haileybury’s Almaty and Astana schools offer the same final qualification?

The published routes differ: Almaty identifies A levels in Years 12–13, while Astana identifies the two-year IB Diploma. The school’s announced 2027–28 partnership transition states that these pathways are intended to continue. Confirm the current course offer for the actual campus and entry cohort.

Is Miras’s Grade 5 preparation the first authorised MYP year?

Its curriculum description identifies Grade 5 as MYP0 preparation and Grade 6 as MYP1. Ask the school to map the child’s completed learning to the offered stream and grade. The preparation label should not be converted into an additional authorised MYP year.
