Name the Astana site and the intended transition year

Haileybury Astana publishes Ivan Panfilov, building 4. QSI International School of Astana lists 17 Bayan-Sulu Street in Komsomolskiy Village. Use those addresses when organising division-specific visits and asking about daily transport. A city-wide school description or shared international label does not identify the pupil's arrival point, classroom or support team.

The joint Haileybury announcement says the Almaty and Astana schools enter a Wellington College Education partnership from 2027–28 after the current UK relationship ends in summer 2027. Its stated plan retains the Astana Diploma route. Families considering that intake should request their own cohort's course, contracting-school and fee arrangements; this is an announced future change, rather than a completed 2026 move or automatic place.

Compare a Diploma sequence with the AP planning cycle

Haileybury's Diploma page describes a two-year programme and limits subject changes to the first half term of Year 12. An applicant should bring existing subjects and assessed work to a discussion about entry and the remaining course. A published Diploma route does not make a late subject change or transfer automatically workable.

QSI's AP page says course choices are made in the spring of the preceding school year with the secondary adviser, with examinations in May. Its FAQ refers to the English readiness needed to earn a high-school diploma. Ask for the offered AP courses, the school's graduation requirements and the pupil's remaining study plan. AP examinations and a complete Diploma are different commitments, and the intended university decides whether external results earn credit.

Ask for the placement decision and an itemised joining quote

QSI's procedure describes MAP testing from age five, including reading, mathematics and language usage in English, with a written essay from age eight. It says test results are one part of placement. Its FAQ also considers previous completed study and explains how a different academic calendar affects the joining class. Send reports and semester dates before assuming that a child moves directly into the next numbered grade.

Haileybury requests a passport copy and recent report, followed by assessment or interview. Its application page's general age calculator says 4–16 while the same page separately describes a 16–19 Diploma phase; confirm the appropriate division rather than treating the calculator as a whole-school endpoint. Ask which charges apply, their due dates and refund conditions, alongside tuition, support, meals and transport for the intended year.
