Compare curriculum and school fees in Abu Dhabi

Start with the actual campus and your child’s entry phase. A broad curriculum label or a school-wide fee range cannot confirm the pathway, year-group amount or available place for your child.

Explore documented curriculum pathways

Each comparison preserves the published phases and source notes. An IB Diploma option does not establish PYP or MYP provision; a British secondary route does not establish the curriculum in younger years.

How we handle source dates, coverage and unknown facts

Choosing a school in Abu Dhabi

The Abu Dhabi collection includes British pathways with different senior choices. Compare the child's year, subjects and qualification route at the named campus, then check placement and current tuition. Abu Dhabi city and Al Ain have separate collections, even though both are in the same emirate.

This guide accompanies 4 included profiles. It is a selected collection; confirm places and current charges with each school.

Compare A levels, IB study and vocational choices

British International School Abu Dhabi publishes the English National Curriculum for ages 3–16 and senior IB and BTEC options for ages 16–18. Its IB page distinguishes the full Diploma from an IB Courses pathway. Brighton College Abu Dhabi publishes an A-level Sixth Form, while Diyafah's senior material describes AS, A levels and BTEC choices.

Ask which subjects can be combined and what prior study is required. Individual IB courses, the full Diploma and a vocational qualification have different structures; confirm the actual award and its fit with the child's next destination.

Keep city, campus and emirate geography distinct

Brighton College's Abu Dhabi fee page identifies its Das Street address. Diyafah's profile identifies Mohammed Bin Zayed City. These are named local school locations, while Brighton's Al Ain campus has its own destination collection. Enquiries should include the campus as well as the group name, particularly when comparing siblings or requesting a quotation.

Ask for the relevant school entrance, daily pickup and return after activities. Check the journey from a likely home at school times. During a visit, focus on the joining phase: senior laboratories or performing arts provision do not establish the same access for younger pupils.

Resolve placement before comparing the full bill

British International School Abu Dhabi explains that age, educational history and assessment can affect placement. Its entry page also describes English assessment and language support. Share previous reports and any support needs early, then ask the receiving school to confirm the offered year and the support plan in writing. A broad age span is not a placement decision.

Request an AED fee schedule for that offered year and the intended academic year. Brighton publishes a school fee page; other profiles may retain an unverified current-year tuition field. Ask about registration, transport, uniforms, meals, examinations and optional trips. Compare the complete bill and payment deadlines without filling a missing schedule using a neighbouring school or another campus.

Compare documented pathways and campuses

These are the pathways recorded for each included campus. Online provision appears separately. A senior qualification does not establish provision in younger years.

Parent questions about Abu Dhabi schools

Does BIS Abu Dhabi teach the IB throughout primary school?

Its entry requirements describe the English National Curriculum for ages 3–16 and the IB Diploma and BTEC for senior learners aged 16–18. The senior IB offer should therefore be compared at the relevant phase. Ask about the full Diploma, IB Courses and subject requirements when considering a post-16 application.

Is a child's age the only Abu Dhabi placement criterion?

No universal placement decision follows from the directory. BIS Abu Dhabi's published entry process also considers educational history and assessment. Give each shortlisted school the child's date of birth, reports, current course and intended start date, and ask it to confirm the offered year. Apply the receiving school's current rules to the actual child.

Using the Abu Dhabi collection

Energy companies, financial institutions and research organisations are prominent parts of Abu Dhabi's economy. Expatriate families moving into engineering, finance or specialist technology roles join local families in considering international and private schools, where the choice of curriculum and progression to university can be central to planning a longer stay in the UAE capital.

Compare the Abu Dhabi profiles by the pathway offered in your child's actual phase. Read the route details beside each curriculum label: a senior IB option and a British pathway through earlier years describe different parts of a school offer.

Current directory coverage: 4 school profiles and 2 published fee schedules. This is a selection, not every school in Abu Dhabi. Schedules show their academic year and local currency; check your child’s exact year-group amount and additional charges with the school.

Start with the named campus and offered year. Where fees remain unverified, ask for a current written schedule rather than estimating from another Abu Dhabi school. Ask which practical subjects, languages and activities are available in that year and which carry extra charges.
