How to compare private schools in Bahrain
Match the actual campus, current school phase and qualification to your child, then compare support and the complete bill using dated school evidence.

Begin with your child's next school year
Write down the proposed start date, current grade, curriculum, languages and any support your child needs. Decide which daily journeys your family could manage. These details give admissions a useful starting point and make the answers from different schools comparable.
Explore the Bahrain collection, then open the named school profile. The Ministry's private-school finder can help establish the institution's identity and registered address. School-owned admissions and curriculum pages answer the next questions: where your child would learn, what is taught in that year and which qualification follows.
Put the teaching campus on the shortlist
A shared school name can cover different teaching sites. The Indian School Bahrain places LKG–Grade III at Riffa and Grades IV–XII at Isa Town. Confirm the site for each child, including the next phase change, before arranging a visit or transport.
- Ask for the campus name, entrance and teaching address for the offered grade.
- Check the actual start, collection and activity times, and request the relevant bus route.
- If siblings attend different divisions, ask how their sites and daily arrangements fit together.
- Clarify whether a reference to a section means a separate campus, a teaching division or a specialist programme.
Compare the programme in the joining year
Ask for the named programme, subject choices and next qualification at the offered campus. Al Noor publishes separate British, CBSE and Bahrain national sections. Arabian Pearl Gulf describes PYP candidacy alongside authorised MYP, Diploma and Career-related programmes. Those distinctions matter when checking a younger child's route or planning a later transfer.
| Published description | What to establish with admissions |
|---|---|
| More than one curriculum section | The offered section, teaching languages, timetable and final qualification |
| IB programme | The particular programme and its current authorisation for this school |
| IB candidate programme | The programme currently taught and the implications if authorisation is still pending |
| Future year groups or qualifications | Which classes are operating for the intended start date |
| An examination option | Who teaches it, entry conditions, subjects and whether it changes the underlying school pathway |
Check how the senior course is delivered
The British School of Bahrain describes its IB Diploma as online teaching through King's InterHigh, with support from the BSB Sixth Form team. Ask who teaches and assesses each subject, where the student studies, how supervision works and which organisation issues the offer and invoice.
BSB's published on-campus tuition does not establish the price of that separate online route. Request the quotation for the actual programme, together with examination arrangements, learning resources and any campus support charges.
Discuss individual support and specialist placement
A published support department is a starting point for a conversation about your child. The Children's Academy describes adapted EYFS and British curriculum provision with individual learning approaches. Britus also publishes a separate specialist elementary programme. Ask which team would assess your child's needs and whether the proposed place is in mainstream or specialist provision.
- Who will review the child's reports and agree the learning plan?
- What teaching, therapy or language support would actually be available in the offered class?
- Who delivers the support, how often is it reviewed and how are parents involved?
- Which services or additional adult support require a separate quotation?
Compare the invoice as well as tuition
Use the same academic year and offered grade for every quotation. Palms School's 2026/27 policy lists BHD 1,910 tuition for Grades 1–6 and BHD 2,214.500 including the stated books and materials. New-student registration is separate, while its advance payment forms part of tuition. Record these categories separately so an advance is not added to the annual bill twice.
Al Fajer's 2026/27 schedule also separates annual school fees, books and new-student registration, with conditions attached to discounts. Ask each school to identify compulsory charges, optional services, payment dates and withdrawal terms. Calculate the amount needed before the first day as well as the year's total.
Use reviews and visits to resolve the remaining questions
Read a BQA report with its institution name and review date, then ask about findings relevant to your child. During a visit, look at an ordinary timetable, representative work and the facilities the offered year actually uses. Keep the important answers, source dates and responsible contacts together.
An unverified detail in a profile means the answer still needs confirmation. Before accepting a place, obtain the teaching site, offered year, programme, support arrangement and complete quotation in writing. Keep any unresolved point visible in the final comparison.
