Regional school guide

Compare schools across Oceania.

Narrow an Oceania school search by destination and education system before comparing brands. Australian state qualifications, New Zealand school pathways and French programmes in Pacific locations require different questions. This geographic collection includes Pacific territories such as French Polynesia within Oceania; that navigation does not establish a shared curriculum, admissions rule or residence entitlement.

117 included profiles · 93 destination collections · 16 countries and territories · 4 dated tuition schedules

This is a selected directory, with different levels of evidence in each collection. Open the named campus profile to check its curriculum phases, review date and sources before contacting admissions.

Planning a school search in Oceania

Separate Australian state pathways from the IB option

Scotch College in Perth publishes WACE, IB Diploma and vocational pathways for Years 11–12. St Peters Lutheran College at Indooroopilly in Brisbane publishes QCAA subjects, vocational options and the IB Diploma in the same senior years. Western Australia's SCSA describes WACE requirements; Queensland's QCAA describes the QCE. Keep the state qualification and the student's proposed course combination visible when comparing these schools.

Ask the receiving school how completed study, literacy and numeracy requirements, assessment timing and university prerequisites fit the chosen route. ATAR eligibility and vocational credit need individual course advice. A school's senior Diploma option does not establish the curriculum of its primary division, and a state certificate should not be renamed an IB Diploma. Do not transfer an Indooroopilly offer to St Peters' separately named Springfield site.

Compare New Zealand and Pacific routes by their actual phase

ACG Parnell College in Auckland publishes Cambridge Primary and Lower Secondary study, IGCSE in Years 10–11 and AS/A levels in Years 12–13. Queen Margaret College in Wellington describes Year 11 preparation for NCEA Level 1 and a later NCEA or IB Diploma choice. These examples show why a New Zealand destination does not determine one qualification route. Send the receiving school completed subjects and ask how an older transfer joins its sequence.

The New Zealand Ministry has announced a literacy and numeracy Foundational Award benchmarked at Year 11 from 2028, NZCE in Year 12 from 2029 and NZACE in Year 13 from 2030. These concern future national-route cohorts; ask each school for its applicable plan. In Papeete, La Mennais' governing organisation describes collège and general or technological lycée provision, followed by BTS options. Its French pathway is distinct from Cambridge, NCEA and IB study.

Make the campus and family arrangement part of the shortlist

ACG Parnell's campus page separates early learning on Park Road, primary on George Street, middle school on Titoki Street and senior study on Davis Crescent. St Peters identifies its Indooroopilly site on Harts Road; La Mennais identifies rue Tepano Jaussen in Papeete. Test the journey to the actual division, especially with children in different phases. A country or city filter should lead to a teaching address, not an assumption that every class shares one gate.

Request the offered joining term, places, language support and any required assessment before committing to travel. For a residential enquiry, confirm the provider, eligible years, guardian expectations and holiday supervision. Obtain a dated quotation for the school and course, distinguishing tuition from accommodation, transport, devices, examinations and support. Keep residence documentation and permissions as separate questions for the relevant school and authority; the regional collection cannot establish individual eligibility.

Parent questions about Oceania schools

Are WACE and QCE one Australian school-leaving qualification?

They are state-specific qualifications described by Western Australia's SCSA and Queensland's QCAA. Scotch and St Peters publish different senior options. Ask how the student's course plan meets the relevant certificate and receiving-course requirements before treating a transfer as seamless.

Does studying in New Zealand always mean NCEA?

No. ACG Parnell publishes Cambridge IGCSE and AS/A levels; Queen Margaret College publishes NCEA and IB choices. The announced national reforms require cohort-specific advice for the national route and should not be assumed to replace a school's Cambridge or IB offer.
