Victoria's selected Glenlyon Norfolk School (GNS) and St. Michaels University School (SMUS) profiles offer different advanced-study choices and several physical sites. GNS publishes an IB sequence within British Columbia schooling; SMUS follows provincial requirements with senior AP options. Match the receiving grade, graduation plan and day or residential arrangement before comparing school names.
This guide accompanies 2 included profiles. It is a selected collection; confirm places and current charges with each school.
GNS's junior page separates 2027–28 applications from a 2026–27 availability notice. Confirm the intended intake and residential quotation; neither statement establishes an individual place.
GNS separates its Junior School at 1701 Beach Drive from Middle and Senior School at 781 Richmond Avenue. SMUS publishes 820 Victoria Avenue for Junior School and 3400 Richmond Road for Middle and Senior School. Richmond Avenue and Richmond Road are different addresses belonging to different providers; use the full address and receiving division when arranging a visit.
GNS maps PYP from Junior Kindergarten through Grade 5 and MYP to Grades 6–10, with the provincial curriculum taught within the latter framework. SMUS describes Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12 and British Columbia requirements across its programme. For siblings, ask each division for its actual entrance, timetable and transport arrangements rather than assume one school-wide listing means a shared collection point.

GNS's senior page distinguishes the full Grades 11–12 Diploma, individual IB courses without the complete Diploma core, and a hybrid of IB and provincial courses. It describes British Columbia's Dogwood diploma alongside those pathways when the relevant requirements are met. Have the coordinator map transferred work, remaining credits and proposed subjects; taking an IB course alone does not complete the full Diploma.
SMUS says its provincial programme is enhanced by Advanced Placement in Senior School, including AP Capstone. This is a different advanced-study structure from GNS's full IB package. Ask which courses the pupil can actually take, how they fit school graduation, and whether examinations or other components add charges. Check intended university subject prerequisites with the receiving institution rather than assume either advanced label settles recognition.

GNS's junior application page requires JK3 children to turn three, and JK4 children four, by 31 December of the starting year. It identifies 2027–28 applications separately from its 2026–27 availability notice. Those are GNS-specific entry conditions. Confirm the child's actual class and intended intake; a published application window or general availability statement does not establish an offered place.
For older pupils, GNS's Family Boarding Homestay pairs international students in Grades 9–12 with school host families, while SMUS publishes on-campus boarding for Grades 9–12. GNS's boarding application process says Grade 12 entry needs prior discussion of graduation requirements and may require English assessment. Compare residential acceptance, academic placement, holiday arrangements and a complete intended-year quotation as separate parts of the enquiry.

These are the pathways recorded for each included campus. Online provision appears separately. A senior qualification does not establish provision in younger years.

No. Its current page separates the full Diploma from individual IB-course and hybrid provincial pathways. Ask which route is proposed for Grades 11–12 and how that pupil will meet both the relevant IB requirements and British Columbia graduation requirements.
No. The school-wide younger divisions do not establish residential entry for every age. GNS's published Family Boarding Homestay concerns international Grades 9–12 pupils; SMUS's on-campus boarding also covers Grades 9–12. Each school must confirm the student's academic and residential arrangements.
